For this piece we wanted to showcase a his and hers option. The ladies watch is the Elite Champagne gold & red Crocodile strap watch. Priced at £133 (€169 or $184)the watch has a 35.5mm dial and an 18mm strap. It's not so small that it goes unnoticed and not so large that it becomes cumbersome on a dainty wrist.

The watch has a clean and sophisticated design with a yellow gold case and a brushed dial, making it very easy to wear, unintrusive, and elegant on the wrist.

The movement on both watches is HMS Japanese Quartz and both have kept very good time with each other and with the Speaking Clock which I use to set all watches I review by.

The gentleman's watch is the Grande Chrono Gold & silver watch with Burgundy strap. Priced at £212 (€269 $294) it has a 40mm silver and white dial and a gold case. Again it's a very classic design and will suit most wearers. It is a stylish addition to most outfits, whether relaxed and dressed down or more formal, and feels very comfortable on the wrist.

All Renard watches arrive in a handsome presentation box, complete with a 2-year guarantee and an information leaflet which helps make the item a great gift. In addition both watches come with an alternative leather strap. The ladies watch with a brown strap and the gentlemans with a black strap. It is missing the little tool however that enables you to switch straps which I think would be a nice additional touch.
