Product Review & styling of the Tarlow shoes by TAG1 London

Craig of That Dapper Chap reviews and styles the Tarlow shoes by TAG1 London

Emerging footwear brand TAG1 London began life directly from the need for comfort. Unlike our female colleagues we're not the sort to carry our shoes and wear trainers on our daily commute before swapping them over when we arrive at our desk.

Now there is no need to carry your shoes in your briefcase with your chicken salad sandwich, thanks to the TAG1 London signature underfoot cushioning. The guys at TAG1 London say "we strive for integrity by producing handmade top quality footwear at a great value because we care about our end-users. We simply want to alleviate discomfort for our man"

PRODUCT

Today I'm going to review and style the Tarlow tan tassel loafers which are part of the TAG1 London 'pillow feet' range.

They are a leather shoe embellished with fine punching detail at the toe and foot opening, and are available in tan, black and brown.

Made using the highest quality certified leather, these shoes offer style, sophistication and comfort. Comprising of leather uppers, lining and soles, the Tarlow loafers are very versatile and can be worn both casually and formally.

PRICE

Priced at £59.99 this is a very reasonable price for such a comfortable full leather shoe.

PACKAGING & PRESENTATION

My shoes arrived promptly and well packed. The navy blue branded box is sturdy and did a good job of protecting my shoes during their journey.

PERFORMANCE

These shoes are incredibly comfortable! They feel like slippers on the feet and I wore them all day without a single pinch or blister. The inner cushion offers a luxurious comfort missing from many other shoes in my armoury.

PERTINENCE

If you're a commuter who has to run for the tube and then stand for the entire journey before doing a days work only to repeat it all again on the way home, these might be a shoe for you.

If you suffer with painful soles or the balls of your feet ache during your walk to work, give them a try as they really do provide a high level of inner cushioning.

If you like the idea of the cushioning but aren't keen on the style, take a look at the other shoes in the 'pillow feet' collection as there will surely be something that catches your eye.

Other shoes in the 'pillow feet' collection: Belvoir, Derwent and Earl

PRO'S & CONS

The comfort that these shoes afford is the main plus point for me. In addition to this they are a very stylish shoe and are very on trend.

On the flip side, some people may feel that they are too slipper like in their appearance and prefer a more traditional style.

PEOPLE

The majority of the team had nothing but positive comments about these shoes "oh, they're so soft inside" exclaimed Katy "and I love the colour".

Matt thought they were "very stylish" while Cindy commented that "they're a really nice shoe, if a guy wore these on a date I'd take him seriously as he's clearly made an effort"

On the other side of the fence Andy thought they were "quite a feminine style. I'm not so sure about them as I tend to go for a chunkier shoe like a brogue"

PRÉCIS

Overall these are a winner. Very stylish and comfortable they're a great shoe to add to your collection.
