Craig shares details of his top three shirts from Italian clothing company Canali and how he'd wear them.

A great shirt is a staple item in every mans wardrobe and we'd be lost without them. Canali, are a luxury Italian brand who offer a wide range of high quality shirting and have been doing so for over 80 years, so they know what they're talking about.

Still a family run business, they are serious about design and quality and still manufacture their clothing in Italy.

Today I want to share with you my top three shirts from Canali in this sponsored post, and show you how I'd style them with other items from their current range.

Get Preppy

Craig of That Dapper Chap shows us how to achieve the preppy style and stay on trend this summer.

One trend that I've spotted coming through stronger and stronger in the spring summer collections is the preppy style. While big brands like J Crew, Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren have been champions of this style for years, it's becoming more mainstream, so I wanted to give you a little insight in to how you can achieve one of this summers key looks.

What I Wore Today #52

Craig of That Dapper Chap shares what he wore today and features a traditional brown check wool suit from Next.

Being a typical Brit, the weather is one of those subjects that instantly springs to mind. Living in a country where we can 'enjoy' all four seasons in one day (and that is not an exaggeration) it's a subject that's close to our hearts. So, in my typical Brit fashion I'll start with a note on the weather!

I remember only a few short years ago that I got sunburned in April, this year it's fair to say that temperatures are less than usually seasonal, hence me reaching for a wool three piece suit!

The 'Ginsberg' tartan suit from Noose & Monkey

Craig of That Dapper Chap wears the 'Ginsberg' tartan suit from Noose & Monkey

We've all come to love Noose & Monkey for their tailoring and the less usual pattern, colour and textures that they offer. You may have seen my previous post where I showed off items from the latest range.

As a guy who likes to step outside of the standard look a suit can offer, Noose & Monkey really appeal to me. So when I had an opportunity to grab the blue and green 'Ginsberg' suit, of course I leaped at it.

Styling the Palissy Briefcase From Oppermann London

Craig of That Dapper Chap introduces luxury leather brand Oppermann London and styles the Palissy briefcase.

Inspired directly by Swedish minimalism and city style, which combines simplicity with functionality and great design, Oppermann London are a young brand with a beautiful range of luxury bags, travel goods and accessories, and I was lucky enough to meet up with them at London Fashion week Mens, just a few short weeks ago.

The guys at Oppermann London wanted top quality materials for their range, and their search took them deep into the Swedish forests where they happened upon Tärnsjö Garveri, a tannery with a long history of manufacture dating back to 1873. They chose their favourite leather and now create and offer a stunning collection of 5 bags, 4 wallets and 4 phone cases in a variety of different colours.

We all know House of Fraser for it's wide selection of items for home and fashion and the huge number of designer brands that they offer under one roof. In this post I'm taking one sweater and showing you three different looks that can be achieved.

Autumn Trends with Hammond & Co

Craig of That Dapper Chap shares three looks available from the Hammond & Co range at Debenhams

If you're not familiar with Patrick Grant and the Hammond & Co range of menswear at Debenhams, you must have been living under a rock.

Mr Grant always offers a wide range of clothing for us gents, classic in style, but with a modern twist. Each season the range is stylish and elegant and has a selection of 'must have' pieces, this season is no different.

In this post I'll show you three distinct looks using items from the latest range.

Look 1 - Sartorial

For the first look I've gone all out dapper. This single breasted wool rich jacket with its bold check is teamed with a crisp white shirt and mustard bow tie for total sartorial elegance.

The slim fit jeans and Chelsea boots add that modern touch without detracting from the gentlemanly look of the outfit.

Get Shorty

Craig of That Dapper Chap puts together 3 looks from 3 very different pairs of shorts from Jacamo

Every guys knows how to wear your standard denim shorts, chuck on an old T Shirt and some trainers and your done. And we all have those slouchy jogging shorts like we sling on for chilling out in front of the TV. But what about a smarter look with shorts? What about red shorts? Or white? How would you wear patterned shorts? Well, have no fear That Dapper Chap and Jacamo is here to help

LOOK 1 - The White Shorts

A lot of guys think that white or stone coloured shorts are difficult to wear. Do you team them with a plain white shirt? Can you wear a darker colour on top? And if so what shoes do you wear?

Well, below I've chosen a light blue floral shirt, perfectly summery, and it elevates the shorts and gives them a much more refined look than you would achieve if you were to simply add a white shirt or T shirt. Jacamo have a wealth of shirts available, take a look, there's bound to be something you like there.

Adding the classic brogues and a straw trilby creates a very British look. Add a bag for your phone and wallets etc and you're all set for that summer picnic.

Stone coloured Black Label Stone linen shorts £28.00

Look 2 - The patterned shorts

Patterned shorts are easily avoidable because there aren't many examples of patterned tailored shorts out there. Embrace pattern but make it the focal point of your look, and keep everything else simple.

Adding a patterned shirt will just make you look like you've been at the dressing up box, so I've chosen a classic white Grandad shirt, white trainers and a grey cap to maintain a relaxed and less formal look.

Look 3 - The Red Shorts

Red! urgghhhh, what do you team with red shorts? Easier to just to walk away right, and choose the navy option! Unlike patterned shorts you can go ahead and team them with a patterned shirt, but make sure that within the pattern there is a colour that matches or compliments the colour of the shorts. This floral shirts is just the ticket.

With the sunglasses, brogues and bag all carrying the same red brown hue, it will create a very cohesive look and will be smart enough for the office. Just avoid socks!

So, if you want to take the plunge and move away from denim, navy or basic shorts and want to inject a bit more personality into your look, go for something a bit different. When you do, please post a picture on social media and tag That Dapper Chap and Jacamo to get noticed!

Styling the Swift & Co brown suede boots

Craig of That Dapper Chap reviews and styles the Lancaster suede boots from Swift & Co

Traditional British manufacture

I want to open this piece by telling you that I am genuinely inspired by this company. For years traditional British manufacturing has been in sad decline. With cheap manufacturing methods overseas, our heritage and industry has been irrevocably and irreversibly affected. This saddens me deeply, so I was delighted to hear from Swift & Co, and I am honoured to be asked to style a pair of their boots, and watch their very well-deserved rise as an award winning British manufacturer.

Craig of That Dapper Chap reviews and styles the Tarlow shoes by TAG1 London

Emerging footwear brand TAG1 London began life directly from the need for comfort. Unlike our female colleagues we're not the sort to carry our shoes and wear trainers on our daily commute before swapping them over when we arrive at our desk.

Now there is no need to carry your shoes in your briefcase with your chicken salad sandwich, thanks to the TAG1 London signature underfoot cushioning. The guys at TAG1 London say "we strive for integrity by producing handmade top quality footwear at a great value because we care about our end-users. We simply want to alleviate discomfort for our man"

The Polo Ralph Lauren Boat Shoes

Craig of That Dapper Chaps shows us how he styled the Polo Ralph Lauren boat shoes from Tessuti

I have to be honest with you Tessuti is not a name that I'd heard of previously, and I'm not sure how I have managed to miss it! Established in 1985 they now have fifteen stores across the UK and you can check for your nearest store HERE.

With a strong online presence too, they offer a huge range of designer clothing from the likes of Boss, Barbour, Michael Kors, Vivian Westwood and Paul Smith to name but a few, and they cater for men, women and kids.  Being a fan of Ralph Lauren I chose a pair of Polo boat shoes.
