Craig of That Dapper Chap shares his look from the range of menswear from Steel & Jelly.
Meet Steel & Jelly
While this is the first time I've written about Steel & Jelly, it's not the first time I've worn their clothing. While they're not a heritage brand, they were established in 2004, so they've been around for a few years now and they clearly know what they're doing.
A Father & Son brand, they like to create pieces that are both traditional and contemporary in design, catering to the modern gentleman. They're passionate about British design and attention to detail, often adding a contrasting button or a surprise flash of pattern inside a shirt collar.
With a range of great blazers, shirts, shoes and accessories, they have a wide selection to choose from, and I recommend a look.
MY LOOK
While Steel & Jelly do offer a solid range of casual wear I wanted to go for a more formal look and was immediately struck by the blue wool double breasted check blazer, Being 99% wool and 1% cashmere you'd expect a higher price tag than the £149 affixed to this jacket! The stags head pin is complimentary with the jacket.
With a really nice range of shirts, I had a tough choice! I eventually landed on the limited edition zebra print shirt. In 100% cotton it has a button down collar with a contrasting trim and is one of only 72 pieces. Again the price tag of £48 is great value for money, particularly considering its limited edition status.
Footwear came in the form of these Whisky tan brogues, while not yet available on the website they will be soon, so keep checking back if you fancy a pair yourself! Having said that they do have a great pair of brogue boots available which would be a good replacement!
The trousers are the navy slim fit chinos. Priced at £45 they're made from 97% cotton and 3% spandex so offer a little bit of stretch for some added comfort.
Talking of accessories, I chose the grey wool stripe tie which keeps the colour scheme together, and that was held neatly in place by the gunmetal embossed tie clip.
The only thing that I'm wearing that isn't by Steel & Jelly are my socks. These are from a company called Zawx and are the zig zag stripe socks.
And they complete the look! I hope you approve of my choices, let me know what you think by leaving a comment below and if you have a minute spare, take a look at the range of clothing from Steel & Jelly as I know you'll finding something you love, just as I did when I fell in love with this blazer!
