John Smedley Knitwear

Craig of That Dapper Chap attends the John Smedley SS18 catwalk show for London Fashion Week Men's

With a huge claim that they are the oldest manufacturing factory in the world, John Smedley, an iconic heritage British brand are incredibly proud to say that every garment they produce comes with a 'Made in Great Britain' tag.

With a beautiful range of stunning luxury knitwear in an array of classic and contemporary styles and colours, I was excited to see what they are offering for SS18.

The venue for their catwalk show was London's Jermyn Street. Closed for the day and set with a huge catwalk. Guests, buyers, bloggers and stars arrived and took their seats for the show.

The key message for this show was one of 'Precision and Fluidity' It was a collection of new inspirations and designs but one which retained the integrity and heritage of the brand.

The show saw contemporary tailoring with sharp silhouettes making the most of the fine quality merino wool that John Smedley is renowned for.

With classic polo's and bombers came Asian influences in print and embroidery with the emblem of the season lifted directly from a Japanese watercolour of Koi, the original paining itself having been brought back in the 1930's by John Smedley himself following his initial jaunt to Japan.

I'm sure you'll agree that the collection offers something for everyone, from the must have every day V-neck sweater to something less usual and very eye-catching.
