The White Stuff SS17 Press Day

Craig of That Dapper Chap takes us around the White Stuff SS17 Press Day and shares some of the new styles coming our way next season

Held at the Oui 2 rooms in central London this was the very first press day that White Stuff have held. I have attended other events with the brand, but press days is a new venture for them. I'm calling it a success, so lets hope we get to see more of them!

Shirting is strong again for SS17

As always White Stuff have pulled together a very nice collection of menswear for us. Those additional and sometimes quirky additions continue to make an appearance with contrasting threads and linings, different coloured buttons and great prints.

Knitmas with White Stuff

Craig of That Dapper Chap shares the details of the latest Charity campaign from our friends at White Stuff

It's beginning to look a lot like 'Knitmas' at White Stuff! and I was totally surprised and delighted to receive a beautiful navy scarf, complete with embroidered monogram. It was entirely out of the blue and was sent to me in support of their latest charity campaign.

All I need now is for the weather to get a little cooler so that I can wear it!

White Stuff have always supported local charities and this season is no different. Having already donated £2.1m to over 100 worthy causes they want to add to that figure, and this time around they are selling two scarves to raise funds.

The first is the 'Charlie' chunky stripe scarf (which is the scarf that they sent to me) and the second is the 'Sarah' check scarf.

The scarves will be available online and in stores in October and for every scarf bought White Stuff will donate £7 to charitable causes

#WhatCharityMeansToMe

Charity is all about giving back, engaging in that basic human instinct to care, and doing good for others. It's very important to me, and I have supported many charities over the years, be it via sponsorship, taking part in mud races and weird events, or my monthly payment to the NSPCC.

I'm lucky in that I don't need to take advantage of a charity, but nobody knows when life will take a turn and result in the need to seek help. It can happen to any of us at any time.

Give a little, give a lot, but please give! Why not get a great new scarf into the bargain and buy yourself, or a loved one, a lovely new scarf from White Stuff.

When you buy you please take a picture of yourself wearing it and post it to social media, use the hashtag #WhatCharityMeansToMe

Great denim from White Stuff, Part 2 - Gin

Craig of That Dapper Chap shows us how he styled the 'Gin' jeans from White Stuff, and tells us how we can win a weekend away courtesy of the White Stuff #SLICEOFSUMMER competition

In part 1 of the White Stuff denim series I wore the Whisky jeans. Staying with the boozy theme White Stuff also offer us the 'Gin' jeans. Just like the Whiskey jeans they come in mid wash, rinse wash, but also in antique wash. The jeans I'm wearing today are the rinse wash.

As it was such a beautiful day that we decided to shoot this post at our beach hut on the British coast.

Summer Essentials With White Stuff

Craig of That Dapper Chap talks summer essentials, taking inspiration from the summer range from White Stuff

Great news guys, Summer is just around the corner! So, with that in mind what are you planning to be wearing when the warmer months are here? Don't fret, I'm here to help guide you along the way, and want to share a few summer essentials with you from White Stuff.

Some Cool Coloured Shorts

First up you'll need shorts! if you can't get your legs out during the summer when can you? Chino shorts are big news and are available in some great colours, so grab yourself a pair (or two)

These are the 'Warren' chino shorts. finishing just above the knee. They are versatile and can be dressed up with a shirt and a blazer. Alternatively  throw on a T-shirt for a more relaxed look.

Don't be afraid to play with the length either by rolling up the legs one or two turns. This can help change the look of the shorts dramatically, particularly if you're packing light but need switch things around.

What I Wore Today - An Afternoon in White Stuff

Craig of That Dapper Chap shows us what he wore today in an outfit from White Stuff

You already know that I'm a huge fan of White Stuff, their quintessential English style and that heartfelt vintage edge that they have and give us each season.

Spring has popped in to say 'hello' and while she's welcome, we're all hoping that she doesn't hang around for too long before Summer waltzes in with promises of scorched skin and warm evenings with cold wine and old friends.

The White Stuff 'Weeds & Wonders' flat lay as seem on my Instagram page

So to celebrate the Weeds & Wonders that Spring brings with her, I donned my White Stuff outfit, hopped into my 1967 Morris Minor and spent the afternoon enjoying a local park which has its roots in medieval history.

What I Wore Today #43 - Thursday in White Stuff

Craig of That Dapper Chap shares his look for today wearing top to toe White Stuff

When I saw this blazer and matching waistcoat in the White Stuff lookbook I knew I had to have it. I just love the duck egg blue colour, which is a bit more of an unusual colour than we are used to in menswear.

With a matching waistcoat it's the perfect addition to your winter wardrobe adding layering and a dash of colour to those cold dull days.

The White Stuff SS16 Press Event

Craig of That Dapper Chap attends the White Stuff SS16 Press event and enjoys a great meal and gets a peek at some of the new collection.

I'm relatively new to White Stuff, I've been into their shop in my local town a few times and have fallen in love with their style! I am converted and I'm a huge fan. So much so that I recently did a shoot for their Hidden Havens campaign dressed head to toe in White Stuff menswear.

I was therefore really excited to be invited to their SS16 press event, a three course meal at the swish Carousel restaurant in London.

the beautifully decorated table

As I often do I arrived early and the guys were still setting up, as I made my apologies I realised that it was a great opportunity to take a few pictures before everyone else arrived. And before you ask, yes I was dressed in White Stuff!

The table was beautifully dressed in a rustic botanical theme and each guest had their own animal egg cup delightfully inhabited by a little succulent which I thought was a great touch. There was a bit of swapping going on very early which cats being swapped for bears and polar bears being swapped for foxes (that was me)

Scrumptious canapes. I could easily have eaten every one
wine poured and ready for guests
As guests arrived, the wine and conversation flowed. There were various magazine fashion editors and freelance writers, all enjoying the collection and taking notes. The photographer snapped away and we enjoyed a few delicious canapes before we were ushered to our seats for our meal.

I have to say the meal was amazing! We started with prawn and chorizo risotto with crusty bread. This was followed by slow cooked pork belly on a bed of dressed lentils and for desert there was chocolate meringue. Every course was delicious and all helped down by one or two glasses of wine.

After the meal we talked some more and I chose my favorite pieces from the new range. Anyone out here who knows me knows that I'm a sucker for a quirky printed shirt and the SS16 range doesn't disappoint. My particular favorites (and I couldn't choose between the two) are the bicycle print shirt which has small colourful images of people riding their bikes dotted on a cream background, and the and the drinks shirt which is a busier print covered with bottles and glasses. A perfect party shirt (for me anyway, judging by the amount of wine I consumed that evening!)
