What I Wore Today #44 - The Profuomo Vegetable Print Shirt

Craig of That Dapper Chap shows us what he wore today which includes a statement vegetable print shirt by Profuomo

Today's look is all about the shirt

If you're looking for a statement shirt, maybe for date night of that Valentines day meal take a look at Profuomo. They currently have a great range in stock including some very unusual prints including birds, botanics and bugs to name just a couple of my favorites.

The flat lay ready to wear

I eventually settled on the Vegetable print shirt, a quirky print featuring every piece of veg you can imagine. Every time I look at it I spot something new. In fact people in the office today saw it as some kind of challenge to spot as many different items as possible! "an aubergine!" exclaimed Jan. "Found a pumpkin" Dan replied "at least I think it's a pumpkin" Debate ensued.

Stone chinos make for a 'spring' look
The orange carrots on the shirt sang to me so I decided to pick orange as an accent colour and pulled out my blue and orange striped knitted tie. I added an orange lapel pin to my blue corduroy blazer and chose blue and orange striped socks to continue the theme.

I accessorised with my latest watch, very classic and simple in style so as not to distract from the shirt. It has a classic silver metal strap and blue hands which complimented the colour scheme. I'll do a full product review of this watch soon, so watch this space.

Today's watch, look out for a product review soon

My blue bobble hat also made an appearance, while the weather was mild for January I just wanted to wear it. I wear it a lot in the house with my PJ's when it's cold.

The tan and navy belt continues that orange and blue theme and also compliments the two tone leather brogues. Always match your belt and shoes gents!

The trouser chain and bracelets pick out colours from the shirt and the navy leather back pack coordinates well and completes the look.

What I Wore Today #33 Primark Outfit

Craig of That Dapper Chap show of his latest look, created entirely from the range available from Primark

I know what some people are like, they will turn up their noses at low cost menswear, with comments about poor quality and other elitist remarks. My view is that style is how the pieces are put together and not what they cost. A person can spend thousands of pounds on an outfit and look like a dogs dinner. They're happy of course, as they're dripping in designer names, would I know that, or care? No. I'd simply know that they looked a complete mess!

What I Wore Today - Boden & John Varvatos

Craig of That Dapper Chap shows us his look for this weekend and shows off his new John Varvatos weekend bag.

When I chose this red and blue striped sweater by Boden I couldn't wait to wear it, but being in the midst of summer, the opportunity hadn't yet arisen. Not that today was a particularly cool day, more that I couldn't resist wearing it any more! With its thin knit in cotton and cashmere it's a great fit and so soft and easy to wear.

With the sweater I wore a pair of stone coloured chino shorts and kept the red and blue theme going with the wristwear and laces in the tan lather brogues.

If you're off for a weekend by the sea like myself you'll need a great bag. This canvas weekend bag by John Varvatos fits the bill. The fact that it's lightweight to begin with is a huge plus. I have leather weekend bags and they are heavy even before you've filled it with everything that you need for your time away!

It's a very roomy bag and even after I'd packed everything I needed I still had some room left inside. I love a bag that comes with handles and a strap as it makes it much more versatile than a bag with just one or the other.  It's faux leather handles are large enough to fit over your shoulder too, so you have three carrying options. The only downside for me is a distinct lack of pockets so if you needed to take passports and documents you'll need to carry them inside the bag itself or somewhere else which could be a pain.

While you may know John varvatos from his time designing for Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein, you might also know that he has his own range of clothing along with a great range of fragrances which are available at Debenhams.

I didn't take a huge amount of stuff for my trip, the idea is to chill out, drink wine and relax with friends rather than have to worry about looking stylish. We all need some total chill time right!

What I Wore Today #29

That Dapper Chap shares his daily look, this time using blue and green

Summer is here so the tweed and wool suits are firmly put to the back of the wardrobe and lightweight chinos are called for. These green chinos are just the ticket for the warmer weather. They are a thinner fabric and the colour lends itself well to the season.

I love this tie. I'm a fan of knitted ties and also of blue and green as a colour combination so I had to have it. One of the greens in the tie matches that of the chinos really well and the blue goes really well with the denim blazer.

What I Wore Today - A Touch Of Pink

That Dapper Chap shares his daily look and today chooses to wear a hint of pink on this bright spring day

Do I take off my jacket? Do I keep it on?
Well, it was a beautiful spring day but as I type the British weather has predictably flipped from promises of warm summer sun to Autumnal style showers. Someone get me on a plane to somewhere with weather that I can rely on! Not only is it irritating for the "shall I take an umbrella?" moments but it can be so difficult to prepare what to wear in advance. I wanted to wear my new loafers the other day with a rolled up chino and no socks. On the morning it was clear that the wet weather and chilly winds had other ideas for me!

Anyway, my typically British weather rant over I'll move on and tell you about this outfit. I've been wearing a lot of navy lately so I wanted to switch out and go for something a little more colourful. So, with spring flowers in mind I chose a look with pink accents.

The outfit layout, all ready to go

Today's wrist wear keeping it tonal
This pale pink shirt has a subtle pin stripe in it which add interest to an otherwise plain shirt. For some contrast and texture I added a knitted dark pink tie, again with a similar stripe which would run in the opposite direction. With a bolder stripe on the shirt this may not have worked but as it is a less obvious pattern I think I managed to pull it off.

A fully look at he entire outfit
The camel chinos add some neutrality, keeping it more conservative for the office but I had to have a pop of colour from the socks, again in a dark pink to compliment the tie and help bring the look together.

A close up of todays footwear

Ready for what the day holds
The blazer is a dark burgundy colour, fully lined with patch pockets. I know that a lot of guys aren't a fan of patch pockets but I don't find them offensive and this isn't an overly formal look so I think it works here.

Accessories consisted of my usual bead bracelets and a pink lace wrist band along with a vintage tie clip, to stop my tie doing things that I didn't want it to. I also wore my beaded trouser chain which I'm becoming more and more a fan of. In addition I wore a pink flower lapel pin giving another nod to spring and a pink linen pocket square I was ready for the day.
