What I Wore Today #37 - Haberdash & Dune

That Dapper Chap shares todays look, in a luxury shirt and tie by Haberdash and black boots from Dune

The flat lay as see on my Instagram page

It's nice to have great quality clothing, something a little special that makes you feel great when you wear it. This pale blue cotton shirt is from Haberdash, a Chicago based clothing company synonymous with an authentic global approach to modern classic menswear. Haberdash blend Old World English tailored styling with Italian fabric ingenuity and American sportswear functionality.

The beautiful shirt & tie by Haberdash

As the cotton on this shirt is slightly thicker it lends itself perfectly to a chillier morning. A size medium, it's a little big on me around the body, although it fits well on the neck. I'm used to slim fit shirts but this Haberdash shirt is quite roomy, so if you have a bit more bulk than I do it may be a good option for you. A couple of my mates lift weights and they sometimes struggle to gets shirts that fit. If that's you too, give them a look.

The blue cardigan adds a pop of colour

I styled the shirt with a grey and blue skinny fit waistcoat and trousers. The blue lines in the check complimented the blue of the shirt and the dark buttons on the waistcoat makes it easy to wear a darker tie. To add a pop of colour and some additional interest I chose to wear a bright blue cardigan over the waistcoat instead of the suit jacket or coat.

I accessorised with a selection of blue and grey beaded bracelets and my trusty Timex watch which I fitted with a blue nato strap. The blue beaded trouser chain is home made and hold my security pass and bank cards safely in my back pocket.

What I Wore Today - A Touch Of Pink

That Dapper Chap shares his daily look and today chooses to wear a hint of pink on this bright spring day

Do I take off my jacket? Do I keep it on?
Well, it was a beautiful spring day but as I type the British weather has predictably flipped from promises of warm summer sun to Autumnal style showers. Someone get me on a plane to somewhere with weather that I can rely on! Not only is it irritating for the "shall I take an umbrella?" moments but it can be so difficult to prepare what to wear in advance. I wanted to wear my new loafers the other day with a rolled up chino and no socks. On the morning it was clear that the wet weather and chilly winds had other ideas for me!

Anyway, my typically British weather rant over I'll move on and tell you about this outfit. I've been wearing a lot of navy lately so I wanted to switch out and go for something a little more colourful. So, with spring flowers in mind I chose a look with pink accents.

The outfit layout, all ready to go

Today's wrist wear keeping it tonal
This pale pink shirt has a subtle pin stripe in it which add interest to an otherwise plain shirt. For some contrast and texture I added a knitted dark pink tie, again with a similar stripe which would run in the opposite direction. With a bolder stripe on the shirt this may not have worked but as it is a less obvious pattern I think I managed to pull it off.

A fully look at he entire outfit
The camel chinos add some neutrality, keeping it more conservative for the office but I had to have a pop of colour from the socks, again in a dark pink to compliment the tie and help bring the look together.

Ready for what the day holds
The blazer is a dark burgundy colour, fully lined with patch pockets. I know that a lot of guys aren't a fan of patch pockets but I don't find them offensive and this isn't an overly formal look so I think it works here.

Accessories consisted of my usual bead bracelets and a pink lace wrist band along with a vintage tie clip, to stop my tie doing things that I didn't want it to. I also wore my beaded trouser chain which I'm becoming more and more a fan of. In addition I wore a pink flower lapel pin giving another nod to spring and a pink linen pocket square I was ready for the day.

What I Wore Today - A Sunny Wednesday

That Dapper Chap takes us through his look for Wednesday.

Enjoying the spring sunshine

The outfit laid out and ready to wear

Wednesday started like any other average Wednesday but I was pleased to see that the sun was shining. I wast pleased however with how my hair decided to collapse in the light spring breeze the second that I left the house!

The stroll to work, bags packed with goodies

I was styling a photo shoot on Wednesday afternoon so I had a couple of bags with me, filled with various shirts, blazers, ties and accessories. It's a project that I've been working on with a local hair stylish and a local award winning photographer so I was excited that we were finally getting around to the shoot, after a few delays. You can expect the first blog story on that very soon.

So, to the outfit. As you know chinos are a staple items for me and I haven't worn theses camel coloured ones for a while. I like blue and brown as a colour combination so chose a denim shirt and blazer. I've hopefully avoided that 'double denim' look here!

To give the look a bit of a vintage twist I opted for some button on braces and some two tone brogues. The vintage paisley scarf also goes to maintain this look and also keeps in with the colour theme.

Floppy hair, not the look I was going for

Time to get to the office!

As for accessories, I went for a striped knitted tie and added some home made lapel pins to the denim blazer, throw in a pocket square and you've added enough personality to ensure the look come across as considered.

What I Wore Today - The Denim Blazer

Craig of That Dapper Chap shares today look and follows his quest for the perfect denim blazer

The blazer is a go to item for any gent worth his salt, usually found in wool, tweed and cotton for those warmer days, and worn both casually and when the occasion calls for a smarter look. We all know the denim jacket too with is stud buttons and cropped shape. But have you ever considered a denim blazer? I have, and it took me ages to find one!

After deciding that I needed one in my life, I set about googling 'denim blazer' I was presented with, well, not much really. I was directed to various menswear sites, all to no avail. Plenty of denim, plenty of blazers but no denim blazers. Google Images didn't help much either as I was sent to pages that didn't exist or that didn't have the same blazer.

Autumn Reds

That Dapper Chap shows us todays look incorporating Autumnal reds.

While the evenings are getting noticeably cooler, the days are still somewhat warm. Even though we're right at the end of September Autumn hasn't quite made his way into our lives just yet. So, with that in mind I thought I'd wear this unlined red cotton blazer, as it will probably be the last time this year that I get to wear it.

To go with the autumnal red theme I chose a retro print shirt and a knitted tie, both adding interest and texture to the look. The boots are also burgundy and are a resent acquisition and one I am most pleased with.

You'll see under the boots I'm wearing some red and navy polkadot socks which continue the colour story with the blue of the jeans and the retro red and blue print of the shirt.

My accessories today were my Daniel Wellington watch with handmade burgundy leather strap, some burgundy and navy beads and my new favorite thing: my 'Dapper Chap' tie bar with was sent to me by instagrams greycardigan. I didn't take pictures of the watch and bracelets as I totally forgot! But I did get a picture of the tie bar.
