Primark Man at Royal Ascot

Craig of That Dapper Chap and other top UK bloggers attend this years Royal Ascot as guests of Primark Man

In this sponsored post I'd like to share my experience of Royal Ascot and what myself and other bloggers in our group wore to the event.

If you've never been to Royal Ascot, I'd certainly recommend it! It's a great day of Horse racing, great food and of course champagne.

Every one knows that attendees of Royal Ascot are all dressed up to the nines and we were no different, but myself and six other UK bloggers got suited and booted without paying a fortune, and all arrived looking the part in suiting by Primark Man.

Not only did we look the part but we arrived in style too in our own helicopter! Well, it would have been rude not to!

What I Wore Today #44 - The Profuomo Vegetable Print Shirt

Craig of That Dapper Chap shows us what he wore today which includes a statement vegetable print shirt by Profuomo

Today's look is all about the shirt

If you're looking for a statement shirt, maybe for date night of that Valentines day meal take a look at Profuomo. They currently have a great range in stock including some very unusual prints including birds, botanics and bugs to name just a couple of my favorites.

The flat lay ready to wear

I eventually settled on the Vegetable print shirt, a quirky print featuring every piece of veg you can imagine. Every time I look at it I spot something new. In fact people in the office today saw it as some kind of challenge to spot as many different items as possible! "an aubergine!" exclaimed Jan. "Found a pumpkin" Dan replied "at least I think it's a pumpkin" Debate ensued.

Stone chinos make for a 'spring' look
The orange carrots on the shirt sang to me so I decided to pick orange as an accent colour and pulled out my blue and orange striped knitted tie. I added an orange lapel pin to my blue corduroy blazer and chose blue and orange striped socks to continue the theme.

A close up of the pattern on the Profuomo shirt

I accessorised with my latest watch, very classic and simple in style so as not to distract from the shirt. It has a classic silver metal strap and blue hands which complimented the colour scheme. I'll do a full product review of this watch soon, so watch this space.

Today's watch, look out for a product review soon

My blue bobble hat also made an appearance, while the weather was mild for January I just wanted to wear it. I wear it a lot in the house with my PJ's when it's cold.

The tan and navy belt continues that orange and blue theme and also compliments the two tone leather brogues. Always match your belt and shoes gents!

The trouser chain and bracelets pick out colours from the shirt and the navy leather back pack coordinates well and completes the look.

What I Wore Today #41 - Monochrome in Primark

Craig of That Dapper Chap shows us what he wore today wearing a monochrome look from Primark

This look was entirely built around this simply styled coat from Primark. With it's micro check and slim fit design its a coat that's going to look great through autumn and winter but will also take you into spring.

The coat is 31% wool and is fully lined. With a simple collar, two flap pockets at the hip and a breast pocket it has a very classic design and could have been purchased from any high end men's store.

I kept the styling simple to reflect he uncomplicated design of the coat and went for skinny fit jeans, boots and a slim fit white cotton shirt with black buttons.

What I Wore Today #37 - Haberdash & Dune

That Dapper Chap shares todays look, in a luxury shirt and tie by Haberdash and black boots from Dune

The flat lay as see on my Instagram page

It's nice to have great quality clothing, something a little special that makes you feel great when you wear it. This pale blue cotton shirt is from Haberdash, a Chicago based clothing company synonymous with an authentic global approach to modern classic menswear. Haberdash blend Old World English tailored styling with Italian fabric ingenuity and American sportswear functionality.

The beautiful shirt & tie by Haberdash

As the cotton on this shirt is slightly thicker it lends itself perfectly to a chillier morning. A size medium, it's a little big on me around the body, although it fits well on the neck. I'm used to slim fit shirts but this Haberdash shirt is quite roomy, so if you have a bit more bulk than I do it may be a good option for you. A couple of my mates lift weights and they sometimes struggle to gets shirts that fit. If that's you too, give them a look.

The blue cardigan adds a pop of colour

I styled the shirt with a grey and blue skinny fit waistcoat and trousers. The blue lines in the check complimented the blue of the shirt and the dark buttons on the waistcoat makes it easy to wear a darker tie. To add a pop of colour and some additional interest I chose to wear a bright blue cardigan over the waistcoat instead of the suit jacket or coat.

Beaded wrist wear adds personality to your look

Suited & booted: Office ready

A closer look at the Donegal Tie by Haberdash

I accessorised with a selection of blue and grey beaded bracelets and my trusty Timex watch which I fitted with a blue nato strap. The blue beaded trouser chain is home made and hold my security pass and bank cards safely in my back pocket.

Time to take some pictures of todays look

Im ready Monday, what have you got for me?

The high shine black leather brogue boots are called 'Manhattan' They are by Dune and they make the perfect addition to a stylish wardrobe. It comes with a wingtip toecap, punch hole detail and lace up closure.
