Flight Bag Essentials From Burton Menswear

That Dapper Chap shares a few items from the summer range at Burton Menswear, perfect for that break in the sun

You've earned it! those few days away from your desk, away from the daily commute and the coffee run. Those few days when your lilly white legs get to see a few rays of sun, and you carry out that yearly complex task of choosing the right sun cream (why are there so so many!?)

One thing you won't have to worry about is what to pack in your hand luggage as Burton Menswear and That dapper Chap have sorted it for you.

The Bag

You'll need a bag to take on as hand luggage. Make it lightweight with this fold up bag in navy with teal trims and zip.

The lightweight fold up flight bag £10.00

The Shorts

Three pairs of shorts will see you through a long weekend away. A pair of smart pink shorts for a smarter look for your evening meal or that drink in the beach bar. A pair of denim shorts for that camel ride or sight seeing and a pair of funky floral swim shorts for lazing in the pool.

Pink smart shorts £25.00

Bleached out skinny denim shorts £25.00

Floral swim shorts £15.00

The Top

A patterned holiday shirt for a smarter look, a floral t-shirt to pair with a smart pair of shorts or your denim shorts and a nautical stripe t-shirt should see you through.

The smart casual floral T-Shirt £16.00

The patterned shirt £25.00

The nautical inspired T-Shirt £10.00

Other Essentials

You'll need a good belt to smarten your evening look, some sunglasses to block out that intense glare and of course some comfortable pumps.

Mushroom suede belt £12.00

Matt black wayfarer sunglasses £12.00

White plimsol shoes £18.00

So, enjoy your few days in the sun wherever you decide to go, just make sure you're not that guy who comes home wearing the white sunglasses! Wear the sun cream, even on your face!

Western Assembly Menswear

That Dapper Chap introduces us to new menswear brand Western Assembly and offers readers an exclusive discount.

Meet Western Assembly

I recently made contact with the ladies behind new menswear brand Western Assembly and thought I'd share their new venture with you. With brands such as Kestin Hare, Hentsch Man, La Paz, L'Homme Rouge, Delikatessen and Sunpocket there's something for everyone.

And as an avid and loyal That Dapper Chap reader you, my friend, can also get a whopping 15% exclusive discount. Read on for full details.

Western Assembly was born from the realisation that most of founders; Anee's and Kiz's male mates didn't know where to begin in finding menswear that inspired them, menswear that held the values of local manufacturing & design, high quality and true heritage.

Stylish menswear available at Western Assembly

Anee and Kiz knew that these brands did in fact exist and armed with their passion for quality apparel that isn't thrown away after a few wears... the WA journey began. Anee and Kiz believe that men of today are owed quality clothing that will stand the test of time, tell a story, hold the essence of it's heritage and all at an accessible price.

The WA brand partners each have their own unique roots, direction, aesthetic & stories and Western Assembly is here to share them. What we put on our backs every day should remain carefully considered and Western Assembly want to make it easy for you. Through the curation of these incredible brands, they have a one-stop shop for you to discover.

The Founders

Sister duo Anee & Kiz are the founders of WA. Born and bred in the Midlands and now living in London, they travel between the two locations to make the WA dream a reality.

Anee and Kiz, the founders of Western Assembly

One of Anee's earliest memories is refusing to wear a pair of god-awful blue cord trousers. This stubborn yet keen eye for what she did and didn't like led her to a career in fashion where she became a menswear buyer for Burberry. Kiz the tomboy was never one to take clothes (or herself) too seriously. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her into a successful career in digital marketing and allowed her to work with some incredible global brands including Reebok, Diageo and Ermenegildo Zegna.

Exclusive discount

What I Wore Today - Pink Floral

That Dapper Chap shares todays look wearing pink dress trousers and a floral shirt

While the weather today was decidedly erratic to say the least, I decided today was spring. While the rain lashed against the bedroom window only to turn to bright sunshine and back again in under ten minutes flat, I was pulling on a pink floral shirt and wondering where my umbrella was!

With the shirt I wore some pink trousers in a light and easy to wear fabric, slightly cropped to follow this years trend for an ankle grazing trouser. With these I wore a chunky derby shoe in burgundy leather.

Over the shirt, to keep out the howling wind, I threw on a tweed waistcoat and matching blazer which is part of a three piece suit that I've worn before. With the burgundy knitted tie and pink lapel pin, and pocket square the look was pulled together.

The Denim Jeans Style Challenge - Look Five

That Dapper Chap shares the last of five looks in the denim style challenge, creating five very different looks from just two pairs of jeans.

This is a sponsored post of honest and unbiased opinion

Welcome to the final edition in this denim jean style challenge, where I am creating five distinct styles with just two pairs of jeans from next.co.uk. If you haven't already read the details of the challenge or the very interesting denim survey results by Burton Menswear, find it HERE

All photography by the very talented Ian Clark of PhotoByIan, check out his other work HERE

Look Five - Weekend Style

So, here we are with the last installment in the Next jeans style challenge. This last look is another very casual styling using the rip repair denim jeans which you can find HERE for £45.00.

This look will take you from that Sunday afternoon stroll in the park, to that pub lunch with your mates. The boots keep the look masculine and are a classic brogue style in a rich brown leather. Great for this time of year with rain always on the horizon!

To keep out the spring chills I chose a textured knit cardigan with a shawl collar in a mustard colour, all three of these elements are very on trend right now.

Chilling out on the sofa reading the Sunday papers

To keep track of the time I chose a beautiful watch with brown leather strap. The brown herringbone wool blazer stops the look from becoming too casual and also adds warmth. Don't be afraid of wearing a blazer of a chunkier cardigan, just be sure that you can move freely!

The shirt is a red and white striped cotton shirt and it has umbrellas printed on it which I thought was appropriate for this time of year here in the UK.

This look work work well with a V-neck sweater too
