Carven Pour Homme Eau De Toilette

That Dapper Chap gets a whiff of the Carven Pour Homme Eau De Toilette and shares his thoughts.

September 2015 saw French fashion giant Carven bring in perfumers Francis Kurkdjian and Patricia Choux to reintroduce the Carven Pour Homme fragrance. With it's immediate hit of violet you'd be mistaken for thinking that this could be a less than masculine fragrance but don't be fooled.

That Dapper Chap takes a look at Hammond & Co clothing and creates some looks with pieces from the range.

In collaboration with Debenhams & all opinions are my own

As a dapper chap I have been an avid fan of the Hammond & Co range of menswear available at Debenhams for sometime now. Created by Patrick Grant, it's classic British style and heritage feel make it a range suitable for all gentlemen.

Patrick Grant

Hammond & Co. was founded by Robert Hammond around 1776, beginning life in the form of a celebrated London sporting tailor.

Tailors to King Edward VII, King George V, Queen Victoria, the King of Belgium, the Emperor of Austria, the King of Spain and the King of Portugal, other celebrated customers included Parisian couturier and founder of modern fashion, Paul Poiret, together with the United States of America's greatest ever military leader, General John J Pershing.

Patrick Grant, Savile Row tailor, TV personality and designer

The Hammond & Co range is now being designed by British designer and Savile Row Tailor Patrick Grant. Patrick is also well known for being a judge on TV's, The Great British Sewing Bee.

Today Patrick Grant continues to build upon Hammond & Co.'s standout heritage through the design of highly sought after collections that beautifully encompass quintessential British style.

My Look with Hammond & Co

After choosing a few items from the range, like a cat landing on my feet, I was fortunate enough to be contacted by Matt Brooke an incredibly talented photographer with a huge portfolio and wealth of experience, working with stars, famous models and brands across the globe. Was I going to turn down the opportunity to have a few shots taken? Not likely!

Western Assembly was born from the realisation that most of founders; Anee's and Kiz's male mates didn't know where to begin in finding menswear that inspired them, menswear that held the values of local manufacturing & design, high quality and true heritage.

Stylish menswear available at Western Assembly

Anee and Kiz knew that these brands did in fact exist and armed with their passion for quality apparel that isn't thrown away after a few wears... the WA journey began. Anee and Kiz believe that men of today are owed quality clothing that will stand the test of time, tell a story, hold the essence of it's heritage and all at an accessible price.

The WA brand partners each have their own unique roots, direction, aesthetic & stories and Western Assembly is here to share them. What we put on our backs every day should remain carefully considered and Western Assembly want to make it easy for you. Through the curation of these incredible brands, they have a one-stop shop for you to discover.

The Founders

Sister duo Anee & Kiz are the founders of WA. Born and bred in the Midlands and now living in London, they travel between the two locations to make the WA dream a reality.

Anee and Kiz, the founders of Western Assembly

One of Anee's earliest memories is refusing to wear a pair of god-awful blue cord trousers. This stubborn yet keen eye for what she did and didn't like led her to a career in fashion where she became a menswear buyer for Burberry. Kiz the tomboy was never one to take clothes (or herself) too seriously. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her into a successful career in digital marketing and allowed her to work with some incredible global brands including Reebok, Diageo and Ermenegildo Zegna.

Exclusive discount

So, if you like what you've seen and want to get a new shirt for the summer of that forthcoming date, grab yourself and exclusive That Dapper Chap discount. Just use code 'DAPPER15' at checkout for 15% off.

What I Wore Today - Pink Floral

That Dapper Chap shares todays look wearing pink dress trousers and a floral shirt

While the weather today was decidedly erratic to say the least, I decided today was spring. While the rain lashed against the bedroom window only to turn to bright sunshine and back again in under ten minutes flat, I was pulling on a pink floral shirt and wondering where my umbrella was!

With the shirt I wore some pink trousers in a light and easy to wear fabric, slightly cropped to follow this years trend for an ankle grazing trouser. With these I wore a chunky derby shoe in burgundy leather.

Over the shirt, to keep out the howling wind, I threw on a tweed waistcoat and matching blazer which is part of a three piece suit that I've worn before. With the burgundy knitted tie and pink lapel pin, and pocket square the look was pulled together.
