Craig of That Dapper Chap gives us a sneak peek of the new collection coming our way from Burton Menswear
A contemporary interpretation of classic menswear styles helps Burton create an AW16 wardrobe of truly iconic pieces, making it the ultimate collection for today’s stylish and unpretentious man.
A focus on the brand’s heritage of
providing impeccable suiting and smart casual options is the main theme of the
range. Illustrating this perfectly is New British Classics, a story inspired by
traditional fabrics, modernised with a smoother feel and a slick finish. Suits
in grey twisted yarns are teamed with dobby patterned shirts and a wool
Chesterfield coat, while bringing us bang up to date is the camel two-piece, which
is worn with a burgundy crew-neck and brown Chelsea boot - a fresh take on a
well-tested trend.
Metropolitan provides us with a newer,
more urban tailoring aesthetic. Smart pieces and clean silhouettes have a
Skandi mood where tonal dressing and simplicity are key. Earthy neutrals, khaki
and rust highlights are worn with casual footwear or trainers for a relaxed,
dressed down feel.
For work look to the Square Mile, a sleek,
stylish and streamlined formalwear story in easy-to-wear micro-fabrics that provides
a perfectly professional wardrobe. Colour-pop ties and geometric pocket-squares
add to the cool city-boy look, while navy makes a welcome come-back in the form
of a three-piece suit, which when worn with our light grey three quarter length
coat creates the perfect pairing.
Off-duty style has not been ignored. In Workwear Club we find utility staples with
vintage Nordic and folk prints throughout. Twill shirts, a honeycomb stich knit
and a suede bomber jacket are key items in this cool and casual story.
The collection is available in-store
and online from August 2016.
