Craig of That Dapper Chap attends the Burton Menswear Dinner to celebrate the launch of the new Montague Burton range
If you're here at ThatDapperChap.com you're no doubt a fan of menswear. If that's the case you're no doubt familiar with Burton menswear, but are you familiar with their
Montague Burton range?
Montague Burton was the founder of the brand way back in 1904 and the guys at Burton have put his name to their collection of higher end products. With beautiful tailoring, crisp cotton shirting and great footwear, the range is a stylish addition to your wardrobes.

As the sun started to dip in the sky I arrived at the restaurant and was instantly greeted by the guys from Burton, a gin martini was thrust in my hand and we started catching up with what we've all been up to since our last meeting.

Other guest began to arrive, and with a mix of bloggers, press people from GQ and Mens Health, and TV personalities alike, the conversation flowed, wine was poured and the new collection was admired.
I was particularly impressed by the suiting on offer and fell in love with a light grey suit with a lovely white window pane check.

My place setting, not sure why I needed four wine glasses! |
Before long the smell of fine cooking became to difficult to ignore and we were asked to take our seats for the sharing feast.
Starting with Cauliflower, leek and butter beans, along with a dish of crispy pig cheeks and dandelions, it was less standard fayre than some were used too. This was followed by roast lamb and Hake and leek pie, which was an absolute delight.

Roast lamb, a tad on the pink side for me so I stuck with the Hake and leek pie |

After the main course was cleared we were presented with chocolate salted caramel tart, pear and sherry trifle and brown bread ice cream. At this point I was fit to burst and considered browsing the rails of the Montague Burton range for some trousers one size up from what I was wearing, in the hope that it would create enough room for that extra portion!

I had a great night at St John Bread & Wine and I'd certainly recommend it as a place to eat if you're in the Spitalfields area, particularly if you're looking for something a bit different from the average steak and chips.
A huge thank you goes out to the Burton team for having me along. I don't need to wish them any success with the new Montague Burton rage as having seen it I know that it's going to fly off the racks!
