Hair care for thinning hair by Nioxin

Craig tests products by Nioxin available at Mankind, specifically formulated for thinning hair.

Established in 1987 Nioxin now have a wide range of products for us guys that may be experiencing some thinning of their hair. With shampoos, conditioners, styling products and treatments created by a team consisting of biologists, chemists, pharmacologists and hairdressers, there's a full range of items to hep prevent further loss and encourage growth.

Today I'm trying out the Therm Activ Protector, the Definition Creme and the Niospray regular hold spray.

My hair is naturally quite curly and I regularly straightening it, which as we know can damage your hair, and if you're hair is thinning or a little weak, the last thing you really want to do is add heat and pull at it with straighteners!

So, in recognition of this Nioxin have created the Therm Activ Protector. This is a spray which when activated by heat will help protect your hair from heat damage and breakage.

A new smile with Your Smile Direct: Part 1

Craig visits the Your Smile Direct clinic for phase one of a new smile

When I was nine years old I was playing football at school. The ball was kicked from the other end of the pitch, it was mine! I watched the ball sale through the sky and ran backwards down the pitch to get control of it. I wasn't able to run fast enough and the ball came down directly above me. I kicked upwards with force and my right knee hit me square in the mouth breaking off an incisor at the root.

A football accident left me with a gap in my lower teeth

Yoga Clothing Brand OHMME and Male Suicide

Craig meets with yoga Clothing brand OHMME and discusses how yoga can help prevent male suicide

Image belongs to the BBC, click image for their news story

If I can ask you one thing it's to read on. This is a very difficult subject and one that affects a huge proportion of our communities. It may even be affecting you right now.

When I was nine years old my Grandfather decided he had had enough of life and ended his own with a fist full of sleeping tablets. A few years later by best friend tied a rope to a rafter in his attic, put the other end around his neck and jumped out of the loft hatch.

Both of these deaths devastated people and both could have been prevented.

My Grand Father Peter who I miss to this day.

A city break in in Zaandam Amsterdam - Part One

Craig spends a few days in the Netherlands visiting Amsterdam and saying in the Inntel Hotels Amsterdam Zaandam Hotel.

After getting bored with the usual two weeks on a sunbed in baking heat we decided it was time to get a bit more cultured and take some city breaks. With Budapest, Marrakesh, Reykjavik and Prague under our belts we decided it was time to visit Amsterdam.

I'll cover the trip in two posts as I simply have too much to tell you in one post, and I'd hate to bore you!

We all know about the drug culture and the red light districts, and I am sure that these two things have resulted in some couples deciding to give Amsterdam a miss. All I will say about this is that it's there if you want it, but it's so easily avoided and while we didn't go out of our way to make sure we didn't engage with these pursuits, we didn't see or here a single example of either. So be confident that if either of these things is offensive to you that it's not what Amsterdam is all about.

Mini Me with Next Suiting

Craig of That Dapper Chap shows us suiting by Next in this 'Mini Me' Fathers Day blog post

Fathers Day, that one day every year where you get to do nothing! breakfast in bed, coffee on demand and full control of the TV remote control (if you're lucky)

People tell me that my Son and I look alike, we have no real idea where his red hair comes from, maybe it's the Irish heritage, but in a lot of ways, especially our humour, our tendency to be a little grumpy in the mornings, and our style, we're very much alike. The acorn doesn't fall far from the tree.

New Glasses from Glasses Direct

Craig of That Dapper Chap shares his new London Retro Fitzroy glasses

As a bespectacled bloke it's good to see so many styles available for us visually challenged folk. Most of the week I do wear contact lenses, but they tend to feel dry in hot weather so I sometimes switch to glasses, and anyone who wears glasses knows it can be so difficult to find that perfect pair.
